Eden – Animal Care Tutor
Eden loves animals, and thought that The Career Academy would be the perfect place to help others grow their passion for animals as well. During her study at Unitec – Eden spent some time studying the fascinating behaviour of the baboons at Auckland Zoo. Fortunately, the other tutors at The Career Academy are both friendlier and better behaved, and she loves the community spirit around the office.
Of course, it’s the students that make it worth getting up in the morning. ‘It’s awesome when students add their own experiences to their assignments,’ and she especially loves to hear the stories about people’s pets.
When the last assignment is marked, Eden relaxes with horse riding and reading (but thankfully not at the same time).
Rachel – Animal Care Tutor
Rachel has over 20 years experience in the animal industry. She has owned her own grooming business and worked in a number of veterinary clinics throughout Melbourne. She has trained and been a mentor for many people who wished to learn to groom their own dogs and become professional dog groomers. Rachel is all about positive handling techniques and loves to see people succeed and follow their passion for working with animals.

I start the coursebecause I got involved as a petminder and want to have the understanding of how to bath the dogs before returning to it owner. I did acouple of assignments and wasn’t sure why my assignments wasn’t submitted when I thought it was. I then was having a lot of trouble with my laptop and internet. I didn’t realise I was removed from doing my course once my laptop and internet was up and running properly. I had to contact academy adn they allowed me to do my course online and gave me a timeframe when I need it done by. I was very happy with it. I then finally figured out how to submit my assignments and got feedback. And then had trouble with questions and waiting for a reply to help on how to answer the question.

I have just started today so I have yet to find out, but I am so happy there is an online course through the Career Academy to do a dog grooming course as the only institute there is, is in Auckland. I am in Levin, so I am happy to have access to this online course.

I’m definitely enjoying this course; I’m working with a dog groomer who is training me at the moment so I’m able to apply what I’m learning in the course directly into my work. I really enjoy having the course as well as the practical aspect, as it feels like I am getting a full training experience.

I decided to enrol with The Career Academy because I needed a course I could do from home. A bit more on grooming dogs would have been invaluable as that’s the field I wish to take but in saying that I really enjoyed learning about the other aspects of this course and looking forward to doing more studies through you, I would like more info packs on dog grooming courses please. Still excellent overall.
