Meet your tutor team
Tony - Tutor Manager
Tony qualified as a chartered accountant in London with KPMG before moving into teaching the CA qualification to PWC, EY, Deloitte and KPMG graduates. Prior to KPMG, he spent an enviable few years teaching sailing on an island from a beach in the Mediterranean.
What he enjoys the most about his role is the problem solving, trying to come up with constant improvements for the students learning environment and he thrives on giving high quality feedback for students. The most satisfactory aspect of his role is watching the tutor team work their socks off and consistently delivering an outstanding level of helpful and supportive feedback to every student that passes through the Career Academy.
Tony grew up in London and spent most of his youth sailing on the South Coast of the UK, he’s looking to start sailing the 12ft skiffs in Auckland harbour. He wants to improve on his surfing and has recently started open water swimming which is pretty apt given his poor surfing ability.
Jessie - Academic Manager & Xero expert
Jessie is a Chartered Accountant and one of life's natural engineers. If something's broken, she'll fix it. This strong personality trait was well-honed during her time with Xero, and now she's always looking for ways to improve processes for staff and students alike*. This not only helps people understand their learning concepts and have a positive experience with their studies, but provides Jessie with tremendous job satisfaction.
Her best piece of advice to anyone considering a course with The Career Academy? "That's a great idea! Online learning means you can work at your own pace around work and life commitments. Our tutors are genuinely here to help; if you need a hand, all you have to do is ask."
*(She's also not averse to dismantling her own washing machine to find and fix a problem!)
