Blossoming with new ideas! How The Career Academy helped Catriona to branch out.
Catriona Pianina is a work/life/relationship coach with a thriving business, Blossoming Beliefs.
She was keen to further improve the service she could offer clients by building on her previous studies and years of practical experience. In particular, she wanted to broaden her professional techniques, systems and knowledge base in order to assist people with multiple or more complex challenges. Since Catriona is a busy working mother for whom the commitment of attending scheduled seminars is simply impractical, she decided to investigate the option of distance learning.
She found several online providers who offered qualifications in counselling, but Catriona was impressed by the breadth and depth of the topics covered by The Career Academy, so she picked up the phone and spoke to a member of our team. Her initial enquiry was for the Certificate in Psychology & Counselling. However, whilst listening to Catriona talk about her background, experience and goals, our student adviser recommended that she go straight for the Diploma in Psychology & Counselling. Read more
The incredible juggling act. Carol, a working mum’s story
Carol Ramachandran is the mother of four children, in full-time employment, and also helps run the family's new restaurant, Mulan in Birkenhead. She had several diplomas in accounting and business studies, notably from the London Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI Malaysia) and the Association of Business Executives (ABE). In spite of all this, Carol felt she needed a New Zealand qualification, one which potential future employers would immediately recognise and value.
There’s so much to gain from getting formally qualified. Leanne’s story
"I’ve worked off and on in accounts most of my adult life. In difference to the commonly held view that it is not a terribly exciting job, I have enjoyed doing the books for an advertising agency while living in Zimbabwe, worked in London CBD for the UKs largest multi national company and I’m about to start my own book keeping business in Taupo. But one thing has always bugged me and that is I have never been formally qualified.
I discovered The Career Academy online and honestly couldn't have been more excited. They offered me the exact qualification I was after at a super competitive price and offered learning at my own pace. Very soon I had achieved my ambition and completed my Certificate in Bookkeeping. More than just gaining a certificate, the satisfaction did wonders for my self-confidence. Now I really do feel I am part of an industry club. I’m being recognised by my peers as an equal." Read more
